World Culture Music presents:
World Culture Music is working on scheduling a special two night event in October; one night to celebrate my release and the second night to showcase World Culture Music artists. Please stay tuned for details.
Recent Northeast tour:
The northeast tour was a blast! Thank you all for coming to my performances. Randy, Bridget, Eric and I started off the tour in Yarmouth, Maine in a beautiful historic church. We had the chance to speak with the audience during the set break and I was amazed at how receptive everyone was to the music. Who knew that a little town in Maine would be so cultured. It was defintely a pleasant surprise. Tom Levin is the wonderful man that books the series. I am so appreciative of his contributions to jazz. Please check the photos page for pics of this performance.
The second night we visited the Acton Jazz Cafe and had a chance to re-connect with old friends. The following day Randy and I had the great opportunity to performance live on New England's Jazz Station WICN with Tyra Penn. It was a really cool experience. (It's strange to perform for people when you can't see them). I will post the recording of this radio performance/interview very soon.
On the third hit, we visited Ryles in Cambridge and wow, was that a surprise! We had a great turn out and we were blessed with the beautiful trumpet playing of good friend Jason Palmer! Thank you all for coming out to that one! On our day off, we went to Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox. (It was Randy's first time at Fenway - it's too bad that we got killed that night!). The final night of our tour brought us to my old stomping ground, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We had a great night at the Press Room...a wonderful way to end the tour.
Now I am back in Brooklyn, rested and ready for more. I've already scheduled some more Northeast dates to celebrate the release of my new CD. I am working on scheduling a national tour. Please stay tuned for performances in a city near you!
Some new press:
I received a nice little write up in the Boston Phoenix (thank you Jon Garelick!)
